In October 1917, amid war, political collapse and social unrest, the Bolsheviks led by Vladimir Lenin seized power in Petrograd and overthrew the Provisional Government. What became known as the October Revolution transformed the Russian Revolution and opened a new chapter in world history. Workers, soldiers, sailors and party militants played their part in the dramatic events that unfolded around the Smolny Institute and the Winter Palace. This set recreates one of the most decisive and recognisable moments of the twentieth century.
