From June 1940 to August 1944, Paris lived under German occupation. Soldiers, propaganda posters and requisitioned buildings became part of the city’s landscape, while civilians faced rationing, shortages, cold and the growing pressures of repression. Behind the apparent normality of cafés, streets and daily routines lay persecution, arrests, the black market and the constant presence of war. At the same time, clandestine newspapers, hidden networks and acts of resistance slowly challenged the occupier. This set portrays the men and women of a capital living through four extraordinary and troubled years.

De juin 1940 à août 1944, Paris vit sous l’Occupation allemande. Soldats, affiches de propagande et bâtiments réquisitionnés font désormais partie du paysage, tandis que la population affronte rationnement, pénuries, froid et répression. Derrière l’apparente normalité des cafés, des rues et de la vie quotidienne se cachent persécutions, arrestations, marché noir et présence constante de la guerre. Dans le même temps, journaux clandestins, réseaux secrets et actes de résistance défient progressivement l’occupant. Cette boîte représente les hommes et les femmes d’une capitale traversant quatre années aussi extraordinaires que sombres.
