ENGLISH

On the morning of 7 December 1941, the United States Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor was struck by a devastating surprise attack launched by the Imperial Japanese Navy. Battleships were hit at anchor, aircraft were destroyed on the ground, and sailors, Marines and support personnel were thrown without warning into fire, smoke and confusion.

Amid the wreckage, men fought back with anti-aircraft guns, machine guns and small arms. Pearl Harbor became one of the defining moments of the Second World War and the event that brought the United States fully into the conflict.

This set pays tribute to the American servicemen who faced the attack in the opening moments of the Pacific War.
