ENGLISH During the Second World War, Italian headquarters coordinated military operations across widely different theatres, from North Africa and the Mediterranean to the Balkans and the Eastern Front. Officers, radio operators, messengers and administrative personnel worked around maps, field telephones and written orders to keep units supplied, informed and under command. Behind every offensive or defensive position stood a complex network of communications, planning and logistics. After the armistice of September 1943, Italian forces were divided between opposing sides, creating an even more complex command situation during the final years of the war. This set portrays the men and atmosphere of an Italian military headquarters from 1940 to 1945. ITALIANO Durante la Seconda guerra mondiale, i comandi italiani coordinarono operazioni militari in teatri molto diversi, dal Nord Africa e dal Mediterraneo ai Balcani e al fronte orientale. Ufficiali, radiotelegrafisti, portaordini e personale amministrativo lavoravano tra carte, telefoni da campo e ordini scritti per mantenere le unità rifornite, informate e sotto controllo. Dietro ogni offensiva o posizione difensiva esisteva una complessa rete di comunicazioni, pianificazione e logistica. Dopo l’armistizio del settembre 1943, le forze italiane si divisero su fronti opposti, rendendo ancora più complessa la situazione dei comandi negli ultimi anni della guerra. Questa serie rappresenta gli uomini e l’atmosfera di un quartier generale militare italiano dal 1940 al 1945.
