ENGLISH In the summer of 1974, Cyprus was thrown into war, invasion and division. As Turkish forces landed on the island, soldiers, reservists, volunteers and civilians were drawn into a desperate struggle to defend their towns, villages and families. In the confusion of mobilisation, many fought with limited equipment, little preparation and no certainty about what the next hours would bring. The fighting left deep scars across the island and became one of the defining tragedies of modern Cypriot history. This set pays tribute to the men and women who resisted in the dramatic days of 1974. ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ Το καλοκαίρι του 1974, η Κύπρος βυθίστηκε στον πόλεμο, την εισβολή και τη διαίρεση. Καθώς οι τουρκικές δυνάμεις αποβιβάζονταν στο νησί, στρατιώτες, έφεδροι, εθελοντές και άμαχοι βρέθηκαν μέσα σε έναν απελπισμένο αγώνα για να υπερασπιστούν τις πόλεις, τα χωριά και τις οικογένειές τους. Μέσα στη σύγχυση της επιστράτευσης, πολλοί πολέμησαν με περιορισμένο εξοπλισμό, ελάχιστη προετοιμασία και χωρίς καμία βεβαιότητα για το τι θα έφερναν οι επόμενες ώρες. Οι μάχες άφησαν βαθιά τραύματα σε ολόκληρο το νησί και έγιναν μία από τις καθοριστικές τραγωδίες της σύγχρονης κυπριακής ιστορίας. Αυτή η σειρά αποτίει φόρο τιμής στους άνδρες και τις γυναίκες που αντιστάθηκαν στις δραματικές ημέρες του 1974.
