ENGLISH

The Roman world was not built by soldiers and emperors alone. Behind the legions and monuments lived millions of ordinary people — merchants, craftsmen, labourers, servants, women, children and families — whose daily lives filled the streets, homes, workshops and markets of the empire.

From bustling cities to provincial towns and rural settlements, Roman civilians worked, traded, worshipped, raised families and took part in the rich social life of their communities. Their clothing, tools and occupations reflected a civilisation both practical and deeply organised.

This set portrays the ordinary inhabitants of the Roman world beyond the battlefield.

LATINE

Haec series incolas ordinarios mundi Romani extra campum belli repraesentat.
